Data quality problems are present in single data collections due to misspellings during data entry, missing information or other invalid data. Cleaning the data has a symbiotic relation with analyzing the data as exploring the data has to be done first in order to determine actions for cleaning the data (e.g., which records or cases should be deleted or altered).
