Data communication

Is a meta-term.

Data communication

Data communication refers to using data to support a larger narrative intended to communicate some message to a particular audience. This means that a data literate person should be able to present data analysis outcomes in a comprehensive way to stakeholders. Turning data insights into a narrative and communicating this narrative to an audience is often linked to processes like story telling and  goes hand in hand with instructive visualizations in order to convey and support the message. Visualizations also help to effectively navigate data sets and thus supports data understanding.
